I'm Filippo D'Errigo. I grew up in Reggio Calabria, where I still live, and where I learned that innovating in a place like Calabria is not the same as doing it elsewhere. There's less room for theoretical experiments and less patience for people who bring solutions without understanding the context. It shaped me more than any course ever did.
I started working in digital in the early 2000s, long before I earned my degree. The degree came in 2023, eighteen years later: not because I needed it to work, but because I wanted to give my parents a gift. These things matter.
Today I am Technical Implementation Manager at the Department for Digital Transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and Technical Manager of the in-house company of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria. In parallel, as I have always done, I build things: software, systems, products.
I have never stopped at a role or a title. I'm someone who loves code, tries to understand where the problem lies, and then decides how to solve it. This is the part I have never stopped doing, even when the role didn't require it.
Outside of work, I fall in love with things. With cooking: kneading pizza dough, working with meat, building a dish from scratch, with the same mindset I use to build a system. And with people who know how to do things well, at any level and in any field.
I was lucky to have my grandfather Ciccio, Francesco, close to me. He taught me, without ever really teaching me, that things are either done or not done, and that the way you do them always says something about you.
This site is where I write what I think: about technology and innovation, about how Italian public digital services really work, and about everything else that still fascinates me. The opinions are mine, not those of any institution.
